Privacy policy

EspressoFit is a compatibility reference for espresso parts. You can read every page without giving us anything: there is no account, no login, no newsletter and no contact form. This page explains the little that is collected anyway, and how to refuse it.

What we never collect

We do not ask for or store your name, email address, postal address or payment details. We do not sell personal information. We have no user accounts and no database of visitors. If you email us, we only have what you chose to put in that email.

Analytics

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get read. It sets cookies and records your approximate location (derived from your IP address, which Google truncates), your device and browser type, the pages you view, and which site you arrived from. We use it to decide what to write next — for example, the on-site search terms tell us which parts people cannot find.

Analytics does not run until you accept it. On your first visit the site loads with analytics storage switched off (Google Consent Mode), and nothing is measured unless you choose "Accept". If you decline, the analytics tag stays inert for as long as that choice is remembered.

Advertising

We may display ads supplied by Google AdSense. When ads are enabled, Google and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to serve and measure ads, and — only with your consent — to personalise them. If you decline, ads may still appear but are limited to non-personalised ones, which use data only to serve the ad and count it.

Affiliate links

Some where-to-buy links are affiliate links, mainly to Amazon. Following one hands the retailer a tag identifying EspressoFit as the referrer, so a purchase can be credited to us; the retailer then applies its own privacy policy and cookies. We never learn who you are from this — we only ever see totals. Affiliate relationships have no influence on compatibility data; see the affiliate disclosure and the methodology.

Storage on your device

Two things are stored locally by the site itself, in your browser, and are never transmitted to us:

• espressofit:myMachine — set only if you press "Set as my machine", so basket and part pages can tell you whether they list your machine. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
• espressofit:consent — remembers your answer to the cookie banner, so you are not asked on every page.

Hosting and logs

The site is static and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes connection data (including your IP address) to serve pages and to block attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Changing your mind

You can reopen the choice at any time with the button below, or by clearing this site's data in your browser. Declining does not limit anything you can read here.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the UK and EU, or the CCPA in California) you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it deleted, or to object to its processing. Because we hold no accounts, the practical route for analytics and ad data is Google's own controls linked above. For anything else, email hello@espressofit.com and we will respond.

Children

This site is aimed at people buying espresso equipment and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
