grounds land in the basket instead of across the counter. Normcore’s version
holds itself on with 8 neodymium magnets rather than friction, which is the
practical difference: it does not have to grip the basket wall, so it comes off
cleanly and does not disturb the bed when you lift it.
Anodised aluminium, 44g, 18mm tall in the short version, with an 84mm outer and
62mm inner diameter. The knurled edge is there so you can get it off with
grounds on your fingers.
Why it is worth having
Two reasons beyond mess. First, it lets you grind straight into the basket
at full dose without the last few grams bouncing out — which matters if you are
weighing doses, since spilled grounds are silently changing your ratio. Second,
