## Notes

The **Esperto** is La Pavoni's instrumented lever line, and the Abile is the
model that pairs the classic manual group with two manometers — one on the
boiler, one on the group — plus what La Pavoni calls "brewing pressure
profiling control". You are still pulling the shot by hand; the gauges just
let you see the pressure curve you are producing rather than infer it from the
lever's feel.

For fitment purposes it is the **same 52mm format as the rest of the current
La Pavoni lever range**: La Pavoni's spec table gives "Filter holder internal
diameter (with filter): 52 mm", exactly as it does for the Europiccola Lusso,
Professional Lusso and Stradivari Lusso. So the same baskets apply, and the
same caveat applies — third-party accessories for modern La Pavoni levers are
commonly marketed at 51 or 51.5mm, while 52mm is La Pavoni's own figure for
the holder measured with the filter in place.

What makes this page worth reading if you own any La Pavoni lever: the Esperto
Abile's accessory list is the one place La Pavoni names the **Fascino**
bottomless filter holder as shipping with a 52mm lever machine. That is the
link between the machines and the accessory, and it is why the
[Fascino bottomless holder](/parts/la-pavoni-fascino-bottomless-lever/) is
cross-referenced to the lever range here rather than left unattached.

Vintage pre-millennium La Pavoni levers are a different format and are not
covered by this entry.

  - Official La Pavoni product page, read firsthand 2026-08-10. The specification table states verbatim: 'Filter holder internal diameter (with filter) : 52 mm' and 'Type: Lever Espresso coffee machine', product family 'Esperto'. Included accessories are listed verbatim as '1, 2, and competition cup filters', 'Stainless steel tamper', 'Coffee scoop' and 'Standard and Fascino filter holders' — La Pavoni's own confirmation that a 52 mm lever machine ships with the Fascino bottomless holder. Also specified: 950 W, 1.6 l tank, boiler with pressurestat, boiler and group manometers, 'Brewing pressure profiling control', 1-hole steam nozzle Ø 2 mm, 200 × 470 × 505 mm.
