# IMS basket codes, decoded > What an IMS filter basket code means — series, cups, shape, height, hole pattern and coating — decoded from IMS's own guide, with every code we cover. This is the code structure in IMS's own terms, then every code in our database with a link to its verified spec. ## Reading a code, character by character Take `B702TCH26E`: ## The series decide fitment — sizes don't The single most useful thing the code tells you is the series, because IMS assigns series to *brands*, not to nominal portafilter sizes. A Gaggia and a Rancilio are both "58mm" machines, yet IMS puts Gaggia in B68 and Rancilio in B70. Buy by series, not by the number on your portafilter. - **B70** — Ø70mm border. IMS lists this series for E61 and other 58/58.4mm-tamper machines — La Marzocco, Rancilio, Lelit, Rocket, ECM and the Breville Oracle. - **B68** — Ø68mm border. IMS heads this series "CARIMALI, GAGGIA, LA CIMBALI" — this is the Gaggia series, not B70. - **B64** — Ø64mm border, made "for tamper 57" — Lelit's LELIT57 machines. - **B62.5** — Ø62.5mm border, Ø54mm body, Ø53mm tamper — the 54mm Breville/Sage format.
