## Notes

The **sandblasted** single-shot basket in Breville's 58mm OEM range. Breville
also sells a plain
[Filter 1 Cup Single Wall 58mm (SP0001763)](/baskets/breville-58mm-single-wall-1-cup-plain/)
at a different price, and publishes no dimensional difference between them — so
both are listed here and neither is presented as superseding the other. See also
the
[2-cup single wall](/baskets/breville-58mm-single-wall-2-cup/) and the
[2-cup dual wall](/baskets/breville-58mm-dual-wall-2-cup/).

## Single wall means you are in charge

**Single wall** is Breville's term for non-pressurized. There is no valve doing
the work: crema comes from the grind and the tamp, which means a good shot is
better than anything a pressurized basket produces and a bad one is
unmistakably bad. In a **1-cup** basket that is amplified, because the bed is
shallow and small errors in distribution matter proportionally more. If you are
still dialling in a grinder, the 2-cup is the more forgiving place to start. See
[single- vs dual-wall baskets](/guides/single-vs-dual-wall-baskets/).

"Sandblasted" is a surface finish on the outside of the basket, not a
perforation or geometry change.

## What Breville doesn't publish

No depth and no dose range. Breville states the size, the wall type and the cup
count, and stops — so if you want a published capacity figure for a 58mm single,
IMS's [B70 singles](/baskets/series/b70/) print one per code and Breville does
not. That is a difference in what the makers document, not a judgement about the
baskets.

## Fitment

Breville names **the Oracle Jet (BES985)** on the part page. The other four
machines below are cross-referenced from their own Breville product pages, each
stating a 58mm portafilter — the same basis as the rest of Breville's 58mm parts
here. Do not fit this to a 54mm Breville; see
[Breville 54mm vs 58mm](/guides/breville-54mm-vs-58mm/).

## Sources

  - Official Breville (US) replacement-part page, read firsthand 2026-08-26. Product name verbatim: '58 mm Single Wall Sandblasted Filter Basket, 1 Cup', described as being 'for multiple Breville Espresso Machines'. The page's own 'Works With' block names one model explicitly — 'the Oracle® Jet - BES985'. Breville does not enumerate the rest on the part page, so the remaining cross-references below come from each machine's own official product page, all of which state a 58mm portafilter. No depth or dose figure is published for this basket.
  - Official Dual Boiler BES920 page, read firsthand 2026-07-13: states a '58mm' portafilter and that the machine ships with '1cup & 2cup Single and Dual Wall Filter Baskets' — so a 58mm single-wall 1-cup basket is part of Breville's own OEM configuration for this line.
